Lord's Taverners | Stick on Discs
Lord's Taverners are a wonderful charity that help children with disabilities and from disadvantaged backgrounds play cricket to ensure they feel included and involved. They have a variation of support and programmes they run such as Table Cricket, Wicketz, Super 1s and Sports Kit Recycling.
"Table Cricket" is an adapted version of Cricket played on a table tennis table with teams of 6. This game has been specifically designed to suit the young people with disabilities so they can get involved with a sport we all know and love.
"Wicketz" is a community cricket programme initially aimed at young people aged 8-19 living in under privileged areas. It includes weekly cricket sessions and workshops that helps with teaching essential life skills. For this programme Lord's Taverners has the support of the Police and Government as it really assists in the Youth crime and issues that living in a poverty area brings.
"Super 1s" is similarly to Wicketz but supports young people aged 12-25 so they have support beyond the age of 19. The regional finals of these games being held in some beautiful establishments!
Last but not least "Sports Kit Recycling", many young people in the UK do not access sports because sadly they do not have the correct PE equipment to do so. With this programme they collect usable old kits across the country from "collection hub" ensure they are clean and freshened up and then they get passed to the young people!

At Sinclair & Rush, we are so proud to be able to support this charity with their Stick on Feet components. We supplied them with our Stick on Discs and these are used on the Tabletop Cricket Game as they have boundary sections that clip onto the edge of tables. We were tasked with finding a solution to prevent these boundary pieces from causing any damage to the tables. We sampled the customer and after testing found that the best product was our adhesive rubber discs! They prolong the life of the furniture and save the charity money as opposed to buying new tables they can just protect the ones they have with our discs.
