Store Brønderslev Marked is a 41,500 square metre large, outdoor horse fayre and huckster's market, making it the largest fall market in Northern Jutland, Denmark. More than 100,000 guests visit the market each year to experience the atmosphere. Among other things, the market has a fairground, various forms of entertainment and huckster's booths.
In recent years, the organisation has seen its roads become particularly muddy and impassable due to the increased bad weather in the area. This meant that fewer people were attending the events due to the parking and road circumstances. The committee met and realised that something needed to be done otherwise the event will continue to suffer from an attendee drop. However, the solution needed to be cost-effective, ensuring that unnecessary expenditure was avoided.
Looking at various options and needing a quick answer, the committee proposed creating carriageways around the event space using Turf Mesh to enable the heavy loaded vehicles to pass through the event not only without getting stuck but, also safely ensuring that health and safety regulations were adhered to at all times.
Following this decision, the event space installed our Turf Mesh in June and found that the results were immediate. Despite heavy traffic and a lot of rain, the mesh reinforcement prevented wheel tracks from occurring and the ground from subsiding.
