Vejle Municipality was in the process of constructing a new access road and temporary car park for a local business. However, whilst they were surveying the land and following heavy rainfall, they found that the subsurface was very soft and their initial plans wouldn't work.
Following research into other options, they realised that their solution for establishing a solid base would be to install Turf Mesh in all areas. This sits on top of the soft subsurface and reinforces the ground allowing for heavy vehicles to travel across and park.
Where the car park was concerned, the soft subsurface was clearly an issue but the fact it needed to be temporary introduced other problems. However, it was realised very quickly following conversations with Sales Advisors that the mesh reinforcement is a good, economical alternative to asphalt and is a very obvious choice for a temporary car-park. The mesh can be laid using metal U hooks, uninstalled when it's purpose is served and then reused should the need arise in the future.
Upon installation, the client was impressed with the quality of the temporary structure as it allowed them to re-install the temporary surface and create pressure equalisation whenever the requirement was there.
