Macmillan Fundraising | Longest Day Review
Didn't our boys do well!.....
After months of fundraising, the day was finally with us on Monday the 20th June (1 day before Summer Solstace for logistical reasons) for Nathan and Tom to take a break from selling plastic parts and attempt 4 consecutive rounds of golf, all in the aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Far from all being fun, this was a commitment that required over 23 miles to be covered throughout the day. Gillingham Golf Course had prepared the other golfers and there was great support all day from anyone else on the course. Whilst no record scores were posted, there were plenty of pars, even in the fourth and final round. Worst player of the day award goes to Sales Manager, Allan who managed to find more bunkers in 1 round than the others did in 4 rounds.
We are all really proud of the efforts which have raised just over £2000 in total for this amazing cause. Once the feet stop aching, we are sure that plans will be made to repeat the event next year.
Special thanks go to Gillingham Golf Club for hosting the event, Duckling Golf for donating balls and to S&R Inc for matching the first £1000 rasied.
"The day went great, with plenty of support from our guests from each round and members out on the course. We finished in just under 15 and a half hours with some tired legs, after over 50,000 steps and 23 miles. Thanks to everyone that sponsored us, duckling golf for donating the balls and Gillingham Golf Club for hosting us." Nathan, full time Sales Person, part time Golfer.
