So let’s get right into it…
First of all, Congratulations on your 5 year Work Anniversary. Thank you for all your hard work over the past 5 years. We are all very proud of you.
Goodness how time flies – I remember the day you came in for your interview as if it was yesterday. But looking back, have the years flown for you too and what elements about your job have you enjoyed the most over the past 5 years?
"I think time has flown by quite fast.
The part about my job that I enjoy the most is that I love talking to my customers. I like to hear what they’re doing and how they’re doing it – and then offer suggestions to them as to which of our parts would suit their needs best.
Things are different here in the UK to South Africa where I grew up. My accent opens lots of doors and the people here are very friendly.
I am also pleased to say that I have made very good friends here at S&R with Elaine and Karen."
If you think back to your first day at work, would you say you were made to feel welcome by your colleagues and invited into the S&R family that we have been building over the years?
"Yes most definitely."
Like me, you’re a mum of two young adults. If you could go back in time, what career advice would you give to your younger self?
"Follow your gut instinct and not the voices around you. I have been able to do this to some extent at S&R in building my job into something that works well for me."
Now onto the more fun stuff…
What do you do to relax when you’re not at work?
"I watch quite a lot of television, crime investigation and of course I like reality TV which makes people cringe but I quite enjoy it actually. We also like to watch a lot of action packed movies."
