Thank you Mark for agreeing to be the first person to appear in this year’s “Under the Spotlight feature… You joined Sinclair & Rush on 10 July 2000 – that’s coming up for 22 years!!
What was your role when you first joined the company and who did you report to?
I was a Cost Accountant in the Production Department in Maidstone and I reported to our Financial Manager.
What is it about Sinclair & Rush that has kept you working here for so long?
I enjoyed working with all the people and getting to know their different characters.
In your opinion, what are the key habits that need to be developed by someone wanting to progress in their chosen career in the same way that you have?
A good attitude, commitment and dedication, being focussed and being prepared to work hard.
As the incoming Managing Director, what will your top priority be in ensuring that we continue to grow as a business?
My main priority is to support every department as and where necessary, and to remove any obstacles that prevent them from ensuring growth through efficiency - thereby providing our customers with the highest level of service. Our people and our customers are the most important element of our business and both of these are the highest priorities for me.
What do you do to relax when you’re not at work?
I like to spend time with my family, like watching my daughter horse-riding, taking my son to play golf and being the designated taxi driver. Abby and I also like taking our dog out for long walks.
