The purpose of this is for our people to get to know you a little bit better, in a fun and relaxing way.
So let’s get right into it…
First of all, Congratulations on your 5 year Work Anniversary. Thank you for all your hard work over the past 5 years. We are all very proud of you and grateful to have you onboard.
Five years is quite a long time to be at one employer for someone as young as yourself. Tell us, what has kept you motivated during this time?
"I think it’s the team that’s around me. We all get along really well and work together towards achieving a team target so that we can grow the company collectively."
Whilst working for S&R, do you feel that you have learned vital life skills that you can take with you into later life?
"Yeah definitely – the biggest one is probably communication. In my previous job I was pretty much involved in everything on a daily basis, whereas now we have departments who are responsible for either sales or customer service, for example. Team work and communication is what I have learned from this way of working."
I still remember interviewing you as if it was yesterday, but if you can remember back to your first day at work, how would you say that things have progressed within the company over the past 5 years?
"The sales team was a whole lot bigger when I first joined – I think we had like 15 people in the team at that time. Nowadays we are much smaller in number and I think there is only one person who is still under 5 years of service.
Because of the fact that we are a small team, we are a lot closer now, even though we work from home. A few of us make an effort to meet outside work as well.
The other difference is that when I started at S&R, the department was more “Salesy” where we each had individual targets. Now we have one mutual target that we all work together to achieve. It is much better this way.
I have just been away in Jamaica to get married and none of my customers were unhappy or neglected when I returned. They were looked after really well by the rest of the team. We support each other and care about each other and the department as a whole. Elaine is lovely and she’s always checking up on us to make sure that we are alright. 😊"
Now onto the more fun stuff…
What do you do to relax when you’re not at work?
"I enjoy going out with my friends, spending time with my new wife Georgia. We love to watch movies together and play video games with each other.
I would also like to try my hand at golf which I’m hoping to do with some of my S&R friends."
