As you may have noticed from our Facebook and Twitter accounts, we’ve been undergoing some huge changes here at Sinclair & Rush. Due to growing demand for our services, we’ve decided to expand our premises and take on an entirely new warehouse unit – just a couple of doors down from our existing site in Rochester! Here’s the full story:
The project began a few months back, when we bought up the equipment from a local company that closed down due to the owners retiring. The equipment consisted of 8 injection moulding machines, ranging from 50 tonne capacity to 320 tonne capacity, as well as dryers, hoppers, conveyors, pickers and required ancillaries. To accommodate these fantastic new machines, we needed to take on a new unit!
In early November, we picked up the keys for a new unit at 23 Laker Road, just a couple of doors down from our current site (19 Laker Road)! It was all hands on deck as our racking and stock was shifted next-door-but-one in a manic 2-week period, making room for the new machines to join our main factory. A huge thanks to all of our staff members who took time out on their weekends to help – it really was a team effort!
As 23 Laker Road began to take shape as our new despatch centre, the new machines started to arrive at 19 Laker Road. They were delivered on special flatbed trucks over the period of a week and are now being re-commissioned – we have the electricians in and are also re-connecting new cooling systems.
This means all deliveries and collections for standard stock items are now taking place at Unit 23 and completed orders for injection moulded or extruded parts are now dispatched from the main factory at no. 19.
We have done everything possible to limit disruption and thank our customers for their understanding during this move. We’re excited to see the new sites in action in the new year!
